Hvcko Capko
Reapply your bug spray and grab a mosquito net, we are heading into Seminole country on Episode 21: Hvcko CapkoDeep in the margins of the old lands—where the rocky barrens meet the whispering hammocks of what the Seminole people have long called home, and echoes of the long walk westward still linger in memory—there dwelled a presence known as Hvcko Capko, the Long Ears.
Its name, carried in the Muskogean tongue of the Seminole, spoke of vigilance and warning: ears that stretched unnaturally long, attuned to the subtle fractures in the world’s balance.
